10 Tips To Make Your Wedding Day Fun and Stress Free!

  1. Hire a Wedding Day Coordinator.  This person will make sure everything is in place (i.e. place cards, toasting flutes, favor basket, etc.) and things run smoothly. This person should be someone other than your mother or your attendants. They will keep everything on schedule, coordinate all the wedding vendors and take care of any last minute details -- because your job is to ENJOY your DAY!

  2. Compile all of the phone numbers (home, work, beeper #'s) for all of your wedding vendors and be sure to bring this information with you on your wedding day. Better yet -- give this list to your wedding coordinator or friend, just in case someone has to make a call.

  3. While at your reception, take your groom to a secluded corner for a few moments and just watch everything that is happening. Your reception goes by so quickly -- so take a few moments to watch your guests enjoying themselves and try to soak it all in!

  4. If you are taking pictures before the ceremony, bring along some snacks like grapes, cheese and crackers and bottled water (nothing that could stain!). Posing for pictures can be tiresome and a snack can really help to "pick you up" before the ceremony.

  5. Make yourself a wedding day itinerary.  Include when to wake up, when to start your hair, makeup, get dressed, pictures and when to leave for them, and extra time to try and soak it all in! Make sure you add in at least an extra 30-60 minutes to handle any last minute "glitches" such as (a run in your nylons, broken nail, a lost earring or the limo running late).

  6. You can plan your entire wedding yourself, but make sure that on your wedding day you delegate EVERYTHING! You don't want to worry about bringing the guest book to the reception, paying vendors or calling the DJ if he's late. This is your day and you should enjoy every minute!

  7. If you can afford it, find a beautician who will do your hair, make-up and help get you dressed. (Basically all you have to do is show up and be pampered.)  Have a close friend, mother or a limo take you directly from the  beauty shop or home to the wedding location.

  8. Be sure to eat something before the ceremony and then during the reception. Many brides have fainted at the altar because they didn't eat anything all day.

  9. If you are getting dressed at home, put some relaxing music on the stereo. Take a bubble bath and leave yourself plenty of time to get dressed in a relaxed manner.

  10. Don't make your rehearsal dinner a late night party. Plan dinner at reasonable hour and go to bed early! Also, don't drink a lot of alcohol either. You want to look and feel your very best on your wedding day.
